The Versatile Hospitality Apron

Aprons have long been a staple in the hospitality and foodservice industry, serving as functional and fashionable accessories for professionals working in kitchens, restaurants, cafes, and hotels. As a trusted hospitality supply distributor, it’s essential to understand the diverse range of aprons available to meet the unique needs of your clients. In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at the aprons offered by Monarch Brands, delving into their purposes and helping you assist your customers in making the right choices.

Apron Essentials

Monarch Brands’ collection of spun-poly and poly-blend bulk aprons boasts an array of styles and features, ensuring that you can cater to the specific requirements of your customers. Spun poly is popular for institutional foodservice fabrics. As a fabric made from plastic, it is wrinkle-resistant, stain-resistant, colorfast, resists shrinkage, and therefore, does not harbor bacteria like cotton so it lasts twice as long, making it very cost-effective. Pure spun-poly is expensive, so we use a blend of pure spun-poly and spun-poly filament to lower our cost without sacrificing quality. We also carry easy-care machine washable polyester/cotton blended aprons.

Key apron styles

Bib Aprons

These classic aprons are worn around the neck and tied at the waist, providing comprehensive coverage for the front of the body. Bib aprons are a go-to choice for chefs and kitchen staff as they are designed to protect clothing from spills, stains, and splatters. Bib aprons are 33″ long and have extra-long ties that are designed to wrap around the body and accommodate any body type. This type of apron has no pockets.

Bistro and Half-Bistro Aprons

These aprons strike a balance between style and function, making them popular choices for upscale dining establishments. Bistro aprons typically have a more tailored design and sophisticated appearance, offering more color/pattern choices and pockets for functionality while maintaining a polished look. The 65/35 poly-cotton fabric makes them a comfortable and easy-to-care-for accessory for the staff uniform. Mariposa bistro aprons are available in a 33″ long full bistro style and an 18″ long half-bistro style. Full bistro aprons, have one large checkbook pocket and a slim pen pocket, while half-bistro aprons have two large patch pockets. Above all, both styles of bistro aprons bring an elegant look to “more-than-casual” dining establishments.

Waist Aprons

Ideal for servers and bartenders in a casual environment, waist aprons offer convenience and functionality. They tie around the waist and provide three large pockets for holding order pads, pens, keys, phones, and other essentials. At a sporty length of 12″, these aprons are perfect for quick access to necessary tools without hindering movement. The waist apron is often used at pizza pubs, beach bars, snack bars, hotdog stands, newspaper stands, and carnival rides.

Cobbler Aprons

Offering front and back coverage, our 65/35 poly-cotton cobbler apron is a versatile option for cafeteria and school workshops or sewing teachers and students. Cobbler aprons tie on the sides with long adjustable ties that allow for many body types. They measure 29″ from the neckline and have three large pockets in the front that can hold a variety of items, like notepads, pens, pencils, glasses, keys, small tools, paintbrushes, etc. They’re excellent for situations where both sides of the apron may get dirty allowing wearers to simply reverse the apron to maintain a clean appearance. For example, art teachers and fast food workers tend to get quite messy.

Robust foodservice linen programs include aprons

Aprons are more than just functional garments. For instance, they are considered essential tools for professionals in the hospitality and foodservice industry. Multiple colors, styles, and a durable spun poly fabric make Monarch Brands’ aprons easy to match company colors as well as a perfect canvas for company branding. Our spun-poly apron colors match our Mariposa table linens, so customers can be sure they are offering a cohesive presentation of quality table linens, napery, and aprons.
